Description

This 3.6L, 5-speed 930 is a factory M505 slant nose and was highly developed throughout the 90s and 00s into the ultimate hotrod 911 Turbo. This 930 is an example of superlatives in every way--from its extreme, yet tractable, performance to the superb paint and interior. All work was completed by period Porsche Motorsport institutions such as Andial and Dick Elverud, the best in-period on the West Coast. Some highlights include: - Conversion from the original 4-speed transmission to a G50 5-speed, with rebuild and re-gear to close ratios - Displacement increased to 3.6 liters from 3.3 using the numbers-matching original case - Front and rear suspension converted to Bilstein coilovers with Eibach springs - Sunroof and drip-rails deleted - And many other well-executed modifications, in detail at the bottom This slant presents spectacularly and without flaws, with an odometer showing 21 thousand miles (consistent with Carfax and service records). The performance is better than any other CIS 930 we’ve encountered, and combined with the close-geared G50--more comparable to a modified, watercooled 911 Turbo than a 930. Dick Elverud, a highly-regarded race mechanic who's fielded Porsche cars since the 1960s, played a vital role in developing the car into its current performing state, enlarging the engine from 3.3 to 3.6 during one of his rebuilds and converting the trans to 5spd. The slant was on road and track until the mid-2000s and driven infrequently after, thus Dick rebuilt the engine again in 2015 after the car had sat, with new bearings and seals throughout. Docile and well-mannered when driving around town, this 930 has a surprisingly comfortable and compliant coilover setup. The steering is tight. The interior is immaculate with no noticeable flaws to speak of, including the sport seats which are in excellent condition. The AC blows cold. The paint on the car is excellent. The second owner deleted the sunroof and drip rails / rain gutters, possibly after incurring some roof damage, and resprayed the exterior at the same time. The vehicle presents in excellent condition throughout and comes with COA, books/manuals, and records dating back to 1987.
